Incredible "what if" scenario: had NASA detected the wing damage to space shuttle Columbia, could they have had rescued the crew?

SpaceX Grasshopper is not the first rocket (prototype) that can take off and land vertically. This McDonnell Douglass appears to have been further along. Amazing.

The new spacesuit looks great, not only because it reminds me of Buzz Lightyear. Astronauts enter it through a hatch in the back. This is not as innovative as some may think: Although not mentioned in the article, Russian Cosmonaut spacesuits have used that idea since the beginning of the Cold War.
