Impressive photos. I really have giant iPhone camera envy.
Nicely done video. Except for the animoji part which I'm sure will help sell phones but I'm definitely not the target audience for. Still: want.
One interesting takeaway:
"Last week, acting on a tip, we logged into Facebook’s automated ad system to see if “Jew hater” was really an ad category. We found it, but discovered that the category — with only 2,274 people in it — was too small for Facebook to allow us to buy an ad pegged only to Jew haters.
Facebook’s automated system suggested “Second Amendment” as an additional category that would boost our audience size to 119,000 people, presumably because its system had correlated gun enthusiasts with anti-Semites."
Interesting correlation. This is based on data mined from a gigantic sample size. If the system says there's a correlation it's because there is, not because it's inferred by a person. Make whatever conclusions you want to make. None are good.
Wow, that stadium listed as #1 (first in the list although I don't think it's a ranking) is a beauty. BBC sure knows its stuff.
Test your headphones... and your hearing!
This stuff was so cool to me when I was a little kid, and it still is.
If you're looking for gift ideas for my birthday...
Star Wars toys nowadays are mind blowing.
This is a pretty cool way to make presentations without using proprietary software (i.e. PowerPoint) and have the presentation be easily viewable inside a web browser.
“This dashboard displays data about Russian propaganda efforts on Twitter in near-real time. Our analysts use the dashboard and other sources to discover Russian propaganda themes.”
Best practices for online passwords. It's kind of crazy how bad so many online services are about this stuff. Including tech companies.
Incredible technology demo by Trixi Studios: Use iOS 11 ARKit to recreate the classic A-Ha music video "Take on me" in the real world.
This one looks all sorts of awesome.
I still see people doing this even though it’s never been a good idea.
It will probably be crap, but the industrial design alone makes this desirable.
If the real thing ends up looking anything like those renders, that is.
Trailer please!?
“Their work amounts to what may well be the most far-reaching global censorship operation in history. It is also the least accountable”
Facebook was never prepared for the de facto position of responsibility over speech and communications they find themselves in.
Everything this company does is shady. It had to implode at some point.
