Famous paintings available in extremely high resolution. Very beautiful.
Holy shit. Amazing amazing artwork, some realistic, some caricature, by German artist Sebastien Krüger. You have got to check it out.
A web application from the guys of deviantART. I'm pretty sure I've seen this before somewhere in prototype form. In any case, it's pretty cool, and it's completely done in HTML5, which means that it works on any modern, standards-compliant browser... including the iPad. No Adobe Flash nor any other plugins required.
Extreme closeups of eyes. Neat.
Exposition showing what the skeleton of several animated characters would be like. I've seen drawings of this before, but I had never seen them build like this.
Pencil VS Camera: This artists overlays a hand drawn image on a real scene and takes a picture. Cool stuff.
This Saturday and Sunday.
This online drawing tool is really, really pretty.
I don't think the paintings themselves are very impressive. More like quick sketches. Interesting use of watercolors for sure. But you have to admire the man's diligence.
Super cool: they project 3D art on top of buildings. What you see in not CGi, but what you'd actually see from the street. Done by NuFormer Digital Media.
Highly, highly, highly recommended event. Wear comfortable shoes. Plan to spend a lot of time in this.
Awesome simple circular designs.
Cool and sick at the same time. Love it.
Check out this guy's portfolio. The size of the sculptures and the level of detail is incredible.
See these b&w photographs? Well, turns out they're not photos. They're actually drawings made with nothing but a ballpoint pen. Wow.
The evolution of Quicktime. Its logo, anyway.
This is really neat.
"In this series I showcase a number of portraits of musicians made out of recycled cassette tape with original cassette. Also included are portraits made from old film and reels. The idea comes from a philosopher's (Ryle) description of how your spirit lives in your body. I imagine we are all, like cassettes, thoughts wrapped up in awkward packaging. : )"
I heard about this poster competition at SXSW. Too bad I missed it.
3D artist. But not computer graphics 3D... this is old style sculpture 3D. Very cool
